Ultrasound Unit

About the Unit

Our Ultrasound Unit is dedicated to ultrasound scans for women. For expecting mothers, that means everything from the early nuchal scan (around weeks 11–14) and the detailed anatomy scan to targeted scans, checking your baby’s growth and weight, and amniocentesis. For women who aren’t pregnant, we also offer a full range of gynecological ultrasound — including 3D imaging of the uterus, pelvic scans, pelvic Doppler, and hydrosonography.

Our team is made up of senior specialist doctors, led by unit director Dr. Uri Erlich, together with a team of technicians chosen as much for their warmth as for their skill. Every scan is carried out gently and sensitively, with real care for your comfort and modesty — and you’re always welcome to have another woman in the room with you.

Our unit is equipped with the most advanced ultrasound machines in the country, made by General Electric, with 3D imaging among the finest in the world.

We also keep availability high, because we know how much these scans — and the answers they bring — mean for your peace of mind and your baby’s health. When you’re waiting to know that everything’s okay, you shouldn’t have to wait long.

The Scans We Offer

Gynecological Ultrasound

Used to look closely at ovarian cysts, uterine abnormalities, and other findings in the uterus. We work side by side with the hospital’s Gynecology and Gyneco-Oncology units to understand exactly what we’re seeing and, where needed, to take things further or arrange surgery.

Anatomy (Systems) Scan

We perform all the routine pregnancy scans, along with more in-depth scans, and we’ll guide you clearly on next steps if anything comes up. When a scan does show something, we work hand in hand with our pediatric surgeons, neonatal (NICU) team, and high-risk pregnancy unit, so you’re never left to figure it out alone.

Hydrosonography

t to check the state of their tubes as part of a fertility work-up — for instance, to find out whether they’re blocked. It’s a diagnostic scan in which a little fluid is placed into the uterus to make the imaging possible. If we find a problem, we’ll coordinate with the imaging institute on whether a further test (an HSG — a uterine X-ray) is needed.

Amniocentesis

A test done during pregnancy to detect or rule out genetic conditions, abnormalities, syndromes, or infections in your baby. We also perform late amniocentesis at more advanced stages of pregnancy. (More on our dedicated Amniocentesis page.)
