About the Unit
For many women, the thing they worry about most going into labor is the pain. Our Obstetric Anesthesia Unit is here to take that worry off your shoulders.
Part of the medical center’s anesthesia team, we handle everything to do with pain relief in childbirth:
- Pain relief during labor, including epidural anesthesia
- Anesthesia and pre-op assessment for cesarean births
- Anesthesia for other pregnancy- and birth-related procedures
- Guidance for mothers with existing health conditions or a high-risk pregnancy
- Care in emergencies
There’s an anesthesiologist in the delivery room around the clock. Whenever you decide you want relief, someone’s already there to help.
Obstetric Anesthesia Clinic
Nervous about having an epidural? Or been told you may need to avoid one? Our weekly clinic is where you can sit down with an anesthesiologist ahead of time, ask everything on your mind, and know your options well before your due date. It runs once a week in the outpatient clinic complex.
